Thankful Indeed

God richly blessed us on Sunday! I spoke to a man last week named Leon Doss who has been watcing our worship services on TV. He called me and I had the opportunity to talk to him about his relationship with the Lord. He was unsure about his salvation, and so I asked one of our deacons to go and share with him and Travis Balch visited him that day and led him to Christ. On Sunday morning Travis picked up Leon and gave him a ride to church and during the invitaion brought him to the front and Leon made a public profession of faith! Wow what a great day! We also baptized 2 people and others joined our fellowship as well. And our people gave so generoulsy to the Harvest Day offering. The last count was just under $230,000! Amazing!

I hope you have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving. We are indeed so blessed by God to know Him, to be able to serve Him, and have all these comforts He so graciously gives to us.

Below are some pictures of family, Hannah's 17th birthday (so pretty like her Mom (: and pictures of our Servant Evangelism Day on Nov 10.

For DFEA we are sending an update, sermon, and family photo soon, probably right after Thanksgiving. If you are not on our mail out list and would like to be, please send Ashley an email and she will add you to our list-- ashforshee@yahoo.com.

Hello and Updates

Hope this blog entry finds you doing well. Wow are these busy days! We are now into 2 services and things are going very well here at FBC Lavaca. I appreciate our people so much and their willingness to be flexible and reach up, in, and out in our pursuit of becoming a radiant church. This Sunday we begin our first new members class and it will be a good time of fellowship and instruction with the those who have joined our fellowship or are interested in joining. The class will meet for 3 sessions and run the first 3 Sundays of the month. I appreciate all the hard work Bro. Tony Buchanan has put into this class. Also, remember November 10 is our next Servant Evangelism Day and we will be giving out light bulbs and water bottles, gift cards to Sweet Bay Coffee, Aunti Anne's, and Chick-Fil-A, and we will also have some teams helping with yard work. Sign up and let us go and shine outward as a radiant church touching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And also start preparing for our Harvest Day Offering for November 18. We will be receiving a special offering for our H2O debt retirement, a new gym floor, and we will be giving a tithe of these monies for missions.

We had a fun day last Saturday at our golf tournament. See photos below.

Please pray for me as I preach twice and then teach the new member's class then travel to FBC Euless and preach a sermon entitled, "A Cry from Hell." Pastor John Meadors asked that I come and preach on the topic of hell. I am exctied abiut this opportunity. FBC Euless is one of our great churches in the SBC.

A word to our folks associated with DFEA-- we will be sending a sermon, update, and a new picture of the family in a few weeks so be on the lookout for that.
