Membership

We believe deeply in church membership at First Baptist Lavaca.  It's something that we take very seriously.  Why?  We believe that rich, active church membership is vital to the spiritual, emotional, and social health of any believer.  We want to challenge and equip every member of The Radiant Church to shine as brightly as possible!

Why be a member of a local Church?

• We are commanded by God

• Accountability (to help challenge and encourage others)

• Discipleship (to grow deep in our faith)

• Fellowship (to spend time with others of like belief)

• Place to exercise your spiritual gift (getting involved)

How do I become a member of The Radiant Church?

The following qualifications must be met in order to become a member at First Baptist Lavaca:

• A personal commitment of faith in Jesus Christ for salvation

• Believer’s baptism – All members must have been baptized by immersion.

• Complete the New Members Class

What if I have already been saved and baptized and am currently a member of another church?

If you are currently a member of another church we can join either by transferring your membership or by statement of faith.

• Transfer Membership
  This mode is used for those who have membership in other Baptist churches.  We will simply write a letter to the church requesting that your name(s) be removed from the roles and then your name will be added to our roles.

• Statement of Faith
  If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and have been biblically baptized, but have no affiliation with another church, we will accept your statement of faith.
