Customer Service

In a day when customer service seems to be a thing of the past or at least the exception rather than the rule, I had a very nice experience at O’Reilly Auto parts in Barling today.  I met Kosmo and he was extremely helpful.  No, I didn’t ask him if he was also called Kramer.  I have heard enough jokes about my name in my lifetime to know he probably didn’t want to hear it.

A couple of days ago Debbie told me I had a brake light out in my truck.  Sometimes it was out and sometimes it wasn’t, a loose connection I guess.  Yesterday a very nice man in Barling in a really nice blue uniform with pretty bright lights on his car also told me about the outage of my brake light.  After a warning I was on my way.

I stopped at O’Reillys today to simply buy a bulb so I could change it later when I had time or more likely when I no longer could put it off.  Rather than just sell me a bulb, Kosmo grabbed a tool or two and said let’s pull it off and check it out.  The bulb was not blown after all and I had a different issue.  15 minutes later Kosmo had taken both taillights on my truck a part, replaced the wore out parts in both lights and all this, his idea.  I paid my bill, thanked him and I was on my way shining brightly once again just like new.

I really appreciated Kosmo going the extra mile to help me out.  I think he is just a nice guy and likes helping people.  Either that or I looked like I didn’t have the mechanical aptitude to fix it myself!  Regardless, I am glad to have it fixed.  I am going to send him a thank you tomorrow.

Bro. Terry: Happenings like this are so RARE and do need to be acknowledged. May we all strive to have this type of Servant-Attitude in all phases of our lives, professionally, personally, and most of all spiritually. Let's us remember to Thank GOD for both the small and big blessings that come our way each and every day!!!

Good word on your blog Bro Terry. I will look for Kosmos (Greek for world) so he can help me in my automotive world, because unlike you brother I am mechanically challenged indeed! Thanks again for sharing about this man's attention to detail and his "and then some" attitude and example.

Over the years i have replaced only a few break lights (usually found in break rooms) but many brake lights that are found on cars, trucks, trailers, motor bikes and many other types of equipment found on our highways. Isn't learning great! especially when it's about our Lord Jesus Christ. Keep up the good work. I think i might try to get more info on nitrogen in my tires. do you know where i might get it?
