Super Game
While I really didn't care who won the Super Bowl this year, I hoped it would be a good game. No one wants to watch a run away during the biggest game of the year. I, like the rest of the millions of viewers, was not disappointed! Regardless of who you rooted for, you have to admit it was a down-to-the-wire nail biter.
Since the Cowboys were not playing, I was not emotionally involved. I don't like the Giants at all because of the long running rivalry between them and the Boys. However, I found myself cheering them on. More than a Giants fan, I am a Manning fan. I have childhood memories of Archie at Ole Miss and remember watching him play a time or two as a Rebel. Do you remember the song "The Ballad of Archie Who?" There really was a song about Archie putting the ball in the end zone and putting points on the board. I also thought it would be cool for Manning brothers to win back to back Super Bowls. I think Peyton is a football brainiac, and I hoped it would be a game of retribution for Eli. He took a lot of heat early in the season (and his career thus far, for that matter), but he proved, however, that he was a quarterback that could get it done. I also tend to root for the underdog and was a little weary of the Patriots hoopla, too. But now we have to continue to listen to the '72 Dolphins -- maybe it would have been better for the Pats to win just to quiet them down!
Oh well, it was an enjoyable finish and a great game full of big, amazing and unbelievable plays. As well it should be! After all, it is the biggest game of the year.
