Big Party Weekend
We began this past weekend on Friday celebrating Katie and Emily's 21st birthday. Debbie and I found ourselves wondering how we got here so quickly. It really doesn't seem like that long ago they were little girls (like the picture) running around under our feet and requiring our constant attention. We have been blessed to watch them grow up and mature into Godly young ladies. (Can you tell which one is Katie and which one is Emily?)
It is amazing how quickly time gets by! How often have I heard that said and even said it myself. But it really is true. They just finished their Junior year in college and will begin their Senior year this fall. It won't be long and we will be talking about college graduation and other things in their lives.
Katie and Emily have been such an incredible blessing to Debbie and me. We love you girls very much!
We jumped out of Friday's celebration to different kind of party on Saturday. The band and I were part of an Outward event done by Mark and Elaine Williams Sunday School class. We took some gear to Ft Smith, set up on a small trailer and played and sang worship music for the neighborhood. The class cooked hotdogs and hamburgers and poured soft drinks for all who stopped by. They prepared sweets to give away at a Cake Walk and some from the clown ministry were there to tie balloons for the kids.
It was a blast being a part of this Outward event. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put it together and pull it off successfully. There were many contacts made and one prayed to receive Christ during the afternoon. I am looking forward to the next Block Party!
