Life At Warp Speed
Monday, May 25, 2009 at 08:31AM It doesn't seem so long ago that I posted to the blog. I knew it had been longer than it should have been but I really had no idea it had been as long as it has. I will do better and post updates on ministry, life and family more often...I promise. =o) To be honest, I sometimes wonder who really wants to read these happenings and musings in the first place. Most know ministry updates as you are a part of all that we do and for the rest...everyone has their hands full with their own "stuff. However...life at the Hurt house has been moving way too quickly. When life moves at warp speed, I forget to sit down and write.
Emily graduated from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith a couple of weeks ago. Yeeeaaaahhhhhh!! She completed the Dental Hygiene program, passed state boards and clinical and is presently waiting for her license to arrive in the mail so she can begin work. She will be one of the Registered Dental Hygienist at Dr. Bob Wards office beginning June 1, provided her license arrives. She can't practice without it.
Not only did Emily graduate but it feels like Deb and I graduated as well! The program is a stressful and demanding degree plan. We walked with her very closely through the entire process so we feel the load lifted as well, but obviously not to the degree that she did!
Many have asked about Katie's scholastic progress and plans. Most have "figured" Katie should be finishing too since they are twins and began at the same time! She is scheduled to graduate on December 17. She will do her internship (use to be called student teaching) this fall at Lavaca Elementary in 3rd grade. She will be looking for an opportunity to move into a classroom beginning the spring semester 2010. In my most prejudiced and slanted opinion...she is going to be a fantastic teacher. :-)
Now that school is over the wedding plans are back in full swing. I mean it is on at the Hurt house! We did most of the big things and deposits during the Christmas break and have done little planning during the last semester. We are now finalizing the details and there are many details! She and Drew have the wedding shower this coming Sunday afternoon, May 31 at 2:00. That means it is getting close! There will be future updates on the planning as we get closer to the big day.
