The Winds of Revival
Friday, February 13, 2009 at 08:22AM I returned from my trip to Hooks, Texas yesterday both excited and exhausted. It has been a long time since I have sensed the presence of God moving in lives so deeply as this past week. I will offer the following summary of the revival at Everett Baptist Church:
1. It gets harder and harder to leave my family each time I travel, but the power of the gospel keeps me going.
2. Pastor Michael King is the real deal. He is new at Everett and it is his first pastorate. He and his sweet wife Julie and have settled in and are impacting lives. I will definitely stay in touch with Michael over the years.
3. All of the services were really good, but Sunday night I preached my testimony sermon "Breaking the Chains of Unforgiveness" and God especially moved. I won't share on this blog all that God did because of the personal nature of the decisions, but WOW!!
4. The church had been praying for 40 days in small groups for God to fall and from the first moment we started you could tell they had been.
5. Angela Carl Buck led us in worship and in song. She has an unbelievable voice and loves the Lord. I really hope to get to work with her again sometime.
6. Baptist like to eat.
7. Always great to be back home.
8. Hallelujah, What a Savior!
