Weekend
This weekend brought a myriad of emotions to me. Here's a little info:
1. Concerned - Edie's back is very bad and I am very concerned. She is unable to get around by herself, so myself or Josh have to basically help her everywhere. To add insult to injury, she twisted her ankle. She will have an MRI Wednesday. I am not a Doctor, but this does not seem muscular. Please pray that God will heal her and that this will not lead to surgery.
2. Thankful - I am thankful for the way my kids have helped my wife in the past week. They are growing up into fine Christian young people. I love them deeply.
3. Thankful - I sure appreciate Edie's Sunday School Class (Bob Ward is the teacher) providing meals for us this week. You are all awesome.
4. Thankful - I am thankful for Jerry and Melissa and their friendship and constant concern for Edie (and all of us). Thanks you guys.
5. Joyful - Michael English, who is one of my favorite singers, came on 4 days notice to do a fund raiser for the Lavaca Schools. I was blown away by his transparency, not to mention his unbelievable voice. This is a brother who has been to the top and then to the bottom, yet the grace of God is still reaching down to him. I rejoice that he is coming back and that God is still using him through the wrinkles.
6. Concerned - I am concerned about my son's sanity. I was bitterly cold here this weekend. It probably never got much above freezing, if that high, yet he played two rounds of golf. In fact, yesterday on the last hole, he knocked one in the hole from 125 yards.
7.. Full of Worship - Wow! What a service yesterday. The music was simply unbelievable. The choir sang perhaps the best song in all of history. It reminded my one again how holy, awesome, omnipotent, mighty, amazing, and perfect the Lord Jesus is. Thanks Terry, you're the best. Also, I appreciate Bro. Danny giving us the meat of the word and being willing to preach difficult texts.
Vocally Clear
I just returned from the ENT about an hour ago. I couldn't wait to report that my vocal folds were completely clear. After describing what happened, the severity of the problem, and the almost miraculous recovery, Dr. Wills stated, "I believe in the supernatural." It could be that with all the people praying for you, that you were healed. I couldn't agree more. This is great news. In fact, I am ready to sing and preach. Hallelujah, what a Savior!!!
Various Tidbits of Information
1. I am enjoying my "Journey through the Proverbs" I have been reading Proverbs daily for a couple of years and it has been convicting, challenging, and life changing. I appreciate the men on my team and have been praying for them by name.
2. Praise the Lord that my voice is getting much better. It has been very discouraging not having my voice for the past 7 months. I will be scoped next week, but haven't had any problems in about a month. He is Jehovah-Rapha, the healer. I sang a couple of choruses Wednesday night and my voice felt good.
3. Great to have Kristen back from Alaska. She may be growing up, but she will always be my little girl. Not to mention, I miss her whining and thinking she has me wrapped around her little finger. (She really don't)
4. Please pray for "Tony Buchanan Evangelistic Ministries." I am having a bit of trouble booking the beginning of the year. The end of the year is looking better.
5. My house should be finished within the next 4 weeks. It is really coming along. I look forward to washing clothes in my own house.
6. Continue to pray that my house is Tennessee will sell.
7. Don't forget to pray for missionaries. They are definitely doing the deal.
8. I love my wife.
9. I am excited that my mom will be moving out here with us as soon as the house is ready.
10. Proverbs 10:9 - He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his way will be found out. (NASB)
