1L KIDS COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROTOCOL

At First Lavaca we take safety as a priority when it comes to taking care of your children. 

The policies and protocols listed below follow closely to the local school districts as well as what we are asking our adults to do on Sunday Morning. For any questions or clarification concerning these policies please contact Pastor Tyler at tyler@firstlavaca.com.

Kids Area Procedures (K-6th Grade)

  • Upon entering kids/students will need to wear face masks unless they can social distance

  • Hand sanitizer will be required before entering Gym/Upper Room area

  • Once seated for service children are allowed to take their masks off (but must put them back on when leaving area)

  • Seating for services will allow for social distancing

Nursery/Preschool Procedures
Children in nursery rooms (2s-4s) will wash their hands upon entering

  • Children entering nursery rooms (birth-1s) will have their hands cleaned with wet wipes

  • Children will be encouraged to have their hands wiped and/or washed frequently

Drop off and Pick Up Procedures
Each child must be checked in by their parent at the Check-In station.

  • To Pre-Register your child for this upcoming Sunday click HERE.

  • Parents will receive a name tag/sticker as normal from the Check-In station Volunteer.

  • If Pre-Registered, child’s name tag slip will be available at the Check-In station. If your child has not been set up in our system you will need to fill out additional information when you arrive.

  • Families will be encouraged to follow Check-In “path” provided for them maintaining social distancing when possible

  • Children will then have their temperatures checked

  • Drop off for K-6th grade will be in Gym area and kids will apply hand sanitizer upon entering

  • Only one parent/guardian will be allowed in the Preschool area for drop off and pick up. No siblings will be allowed to drop off or pick up Preschoolers.

  • Parents are NOT allowed to enter Preschool rooms.

  • Diaper bags, backpacks, totes, etc., of any sort will need to be placed on hooks outside of the classrooms.

  • Please make sure your child’s bag is clearly marked with their name. (additional name tags are located at the Check-In stations)

***Screening Guidelines***

Please review before bringing your child. 

Entry into 1L Kids area will not be allowed if…

  • You have a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher.

  • You have any respiratory infections, or have had a cough, sneezing regularly, have had shortness of breath, vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours.

  • In the previous 14 days, you have had any contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19, is under the investigation of Covid-19, or is experiencing a respiratory illness.

  • In the previous 14 days, you have traveled on a cruise or internationally.

Volunteers/Classroom Teachers

  • All volunteers/teachers will have their temp checked upon arrival and wash their hands before child interaction

  • All volunteers will wear masks for the duration of the service/classroom time (unless they are teaching the lesson)

  • Hand sanitizer will be available in all the classrooms and used often by Teachers and Volunteers to help ensure everyone’s protection

  • Teachers will use pre-prepared pencil boxes for each child and clean/sanitize after use

  • Volunteers/Teachers are encouraged to keep physical contact to a minimum but parents must understand that many nursery aged children will want to be hugged, held, and sit in the laps of our adult volunteers
